    “I thought my world would be a better place if you were in it.” and kissing using the monkey dolls as proxy. I mean, seriously.

  • My thoughts
    I kind of like the fact that they can’t have physical contact, because it makes their relationship very interesting. Plus the element of longing is always there, which for some reason isn’t frustrating, but endearing. But at the same time, the fact that they cannot touch is just so sad. Remember when Ned had that dream of them? So glorious. 

  • What makes me happy about them
    They solve crimes and bake pies together. Is there anything else I need to add?

    I like that Ned is a different person around her. He’s generally non-communicative and has intimacy issues. But around her, he’s open, or more open to being open lol, and just less afraid. And I just generally like that their love for each other was NEVER QUESTIONED. Like, the show never felt the need to challenge this ship, even with the existence of Olive Snook. It was just like the ship was presented as it was, and that’s it. It was very enjoyable. 

  • What makes me sad about them
    Hmmm this isn’t really about the couple, but more about the writing for the couple and the fact that the show was canceled. I felt like there was a lot more that could have been explored between the two of them. Things that could have been said, issues that could have been worked out. I would love to have seen more of the dynamic of their physicality, how they work around each other, etc., just because it’s such a problem for them. 

  • Fanfic-related questions
    Haven’t actually read fanfics about them. Just because the show is so sure about their pairing, I’ve never felt like anything was unresolved between the both of them, relationship-wise. So it doesn’t hurt as much when I think about it, even though there were a lot of unresolved storylines about the individual characters. So, in that sense, I’ve never sought fics about them.

  • Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other
    I feel like some fans who say Ned x Olive Snook, and I want to address my feelings about them. I’ve felt on multiple occasions throughout the show that they could work. But ultimately, I always come to the decision that they won’t. Because Olive’s love for Ned will always outweigh his, and that’s a problem. And Olive totally deserves someone else who will be whole-hearted.

    I don’t see Ned or Chuck ending up with anyone else at all.

  • My happily ever after for them
    I don’t know, man. I would love for them to finally have physical contact, but I have no idea how to resolve it haha. But definitely married in a cottage somewhere, making pies at home for a delivery service, living next to Olive Snook and her husband, receiving postcards from Emerson as he travels the world solving crimes. Just kind of quietly living their extraordinary lives.
